Dudley's Happy Tail....

Dudley's Adventures Dudley, and his brother Oscar, were released to Miniature Schnauzer Rescue in February 2006. Their owner had become gravely ill, and the boys lived in a heated barn for several months because, as much as she loved them, she was unable to care for them. They both stayed with foster families briefly, and were quickly adopted by separate families. Oscar, now called Buford, is featured on the MSR website. Dudley was adopted by Teresa and her two daughters . . . and now it is Dudley's turn to shine!! Teresa continues Dudley's story: "Dudley was the first dog we saw when we were looking for a Miniature Schnauzer in 2006. He immediately won us over with his happy-go-lucky personality, and overall sweetness. He's been with us ever since. Dudley loves to follow our family around the house . . . he loves taking long walks around the neighborhood . . . he loves the kitchen . . . and he loves munching on carrots."

Adventures with Teresa and the girls are a part of his life. Favorite destinations are the dog park, the river, and the beach. Dudley ran and played at Canon Beach in May 2010 with his family. And in August 2010, Dudley went drift boating on the Mckenzie River with Teresa, the girls, and their Grandpa.

Dudley also "loves" fire trucks. Teresa continues Dudley's story: "The first time we heard Dudley really exercise his vocal chords was when a fire truck, with alarm wailing, rushed by our house. Dudley immediately began to howl along with it, sounding almost identical to the fire truck's siren, and nearly as loud. Our entire family fell silent as we watched Dudley's performance, and then we all started laughing."

Some of the little ones are referred to MSR by shelters, animal hospitals, and veterinarians. And some are released to rescue when their families encounter misfortune and are no longer able to care for them. It takes a special person to give up their "friend" in order to protect them. And it takes special families, like Teresa and her girls, willing to offer the little ones a new home. Dudley, and his brother Buford, are among the lucky ones.
