Adopted in 1997 - Fall 2009
The Heart of My Heart
In 1997, I lost my father, and four months later my husband Don received an email about a free Schnauzer to a good home.
Don knew I love Schnauzers and immediately set up a time for me to meet her. When I met "Sally," which was her name then,
it only took 15 minutes for her to come sit in my lap and put her muzzle under my chin. I knew from that moment on that I had
found the missing piece of my heart.
We took this little girl home, and renamed her "Pepper" because it fit her much better. Pepper was 18 months old when we got her
and she was already spayed. If it wasn't for Pepper I don’t think we could have made it through the hard times that year. And for the
next 11-1/2 years we tried to be the people that Pepper thought we were.
I very recently lost my little friend, and would like to add her story to your memorial page. She was the heart of my heart and
has left a large hole in our hearts and lives. And she has left behind her little friend, Sasha.
I hope that one day I can find another dog that will be just as special to us as our "Pepperjack." I think you can understand
what I mean. I truly want to thank you and your associates for all you do to save this special breed.
